Today's topic is QUALITY. Quality of living, quality of the foods you eat, and quality of your exercise routine. As a child, I grew up HATING fish. I now know that I didn't like fish because growing up poor I was never exposed to quality fish. The way I remember fish it was always fried, never fresh and always smelly. So I carried that opinion into adulthood and I looked at all fish as being smelly and tasting "fishy". I had made up my mind that fish is not good and refused to eat it. One day, faced with a huge appetite, I was at a venue where fish was my only option. Knowing that I needed to nourish my body I closed my eyes, held my breath and took a big 'ol bite. At first I didn't chew, just swallowed. I soon noticed that the there was not odor but aroma. There was not fishiness but flavor. Today, I really love fish. Not only for the taste but for the Omega 3 fatty acids and wonderful health benefits. This evolution would have never occurred had I not "literally" swallowed my pride and opened myself to QUALITY. When teaching clients how to live better, eat healthier and exercise more efficiently, I always emphasized quality. In exercise, each movement should have plan and purpose. I often use the catch phrase "QUALITY not quantity". Today's challenge is to seek quality in your life. This holiday season, make the commitment to start treating your body (your only true possession on earth) to a quality lifestyle, quality nutrition and quality exercise.
