Today's topic is CONSISTENCY. People often approach me in the gym and ask: "How can I get your abs?" or "How can I get arms like those?" They are generally surprised when I tell them the relative low volume and intensity of exercise that it takes to maintain my high level of fitness. Next year I turn 40 and my body looks and feels better than it did when I was 20. CONSISTENCY is a key component to maintaining my physique. No fancy supplement, trendy diet or expensive equipment can replace old fashioned CONSISTENCY. My value to you is that I have tried all of the fads and know what works. I have experimented with countless muscle building, fat reducing and waistline trimming gimmicks. Diets and trendy workouts come and go. Temporary conditions, trendy diets and fancy workout programs, will only bring temporary results. But when we find what works for you, CONSISTENCY will maintain the desired result. Let CONSISTENCY define who you are in the gym and in life. Contact me and let's get CONSISTENT....dp |

Today's topic is QUALITY. Quality of living, quality of the foods you eat, and quality of your exercise routine. As a child, I grew up HATING fish. I now know that I didn't like fish because growing up poor I was never exposed to quality fish. The way I remember fish it was always fried, never fresh and always smelly. So I carried that opinion into adulthood and I looked at all fish as being smelly and tasting "fishy". I had made up my mind that fish is not good and refused to eat it. One day, faced with a huge appetite, I was at a venue where fish was my only option. Knowing that I needed to nourish my body I closed my eyes, held my breath and took a big 'ol bite. At first I didn't chew, just swallowed. I soon noticed that the there was not odor but aroma. There was not fishiness but flavor. Today, I really love fish. Not only for the taste but for the Omega 3 fatty acids and wonderful health benefits. This evolution would have never occurred had I not "literally" swallowed my pride and opened myself to QUALITY. When teaching clients how to live better, eat healthier and exercise more efficiently, I always emphasized quality. In exercise, each movement should have plan and purpose. I often use the catch phrase "QUALITY not quantity". Today's challenge is to seek quality in your life. This holiday season, make the commitment to start treating your body (your only true possession on earth) to a quality lifestyle, quality nutrition and quality exercise. Please contact me and allow NoPayneFitness to help guide you in your quest for QUALITY....dp |

This is the first official entry in the NPF blog. As the founder of NPF, this will be my personal journal to share with the NPF community my thoughts and reflections about becoming your personal best. Keep in mind that this is a new and evolving process and that I am eager to use this space to respond to YOUR questions, comments, complaints and concerns. So let me know what is on your mind. Today's topic is DEDICATION. I believe dedication to be a key component to any achievement. No matter what you do you need dedication to be the best. Personally, my life really started to turn around once I dedicated myself to becoming the best personal trainer that I could be. Soon I wanted more and dedicated myself to starting NoPayneFitness. At first it was just a dream. It was something that my friends, clients and coworkers grew tired of hearing me rave about. But with each long winded rant I was building something, courage. Because we all need the necessary courage to TAKE THAT STEP away from what we know and enter the unknown to pursue our dreams. It takes a great deal of courage to start a fitness program. But it is an essential step to being a better you and empowering your mind and body to achieve your dreams. My challenge to each of you is to search your soul for the courage to be your personal best and the DEDICATION to stay the course....dp |
